The Asociación Cultural RAS-Héroes de Cavite, together with other associations and volunteers from civil society, is pleased to present for the second year, the «Thursdays Hispafreak», which will take place in the city of Brussels (Belgium) throughout the year 2024. After the great success of our first edition, which coincided with the Spanish presidency of the European Union, this year’s events promise to continue to raise awareness of the history of Spain and the common past that Belgium and the Netherlands have with the Hispanic world.
These activities are based solely and exclusively on the initiative, effort and work of civil society, with one main objective: to highlight the role, history, achievements and contributions of Spain and Hispanic culture not only in Europe, but in the Western world in general. With this ambitious objective in mind, the programme proposes a series of debates, round tables and conferences with historians, writers, academics, journalists, thinkers and disseminators under the title «Thursdays Hispafreak» which will enable the public to learn more about our common past history with Europe and Latin America, and in this way understand our present and, above all, to be able to better channel the future.
These activities are mainly aimed at a Hispanic-American public living in Belgium as well as Europeans interested in learning more about Spain’s common history with Europe, Latin America and the United States of America.
The programme for this year 2024 is as follows:
Note: all events will be held in Spanish.
